It should hold them fine since it still wouldn't meet the maximimum amount of students it every held I guess.
I'm still confused as how Wise Is gonna hold all the students..I thought It was In the worse shape of all of them..I just hope all goes well when they all get together.

I wish I could find the enrollments from the early 80s. If memory serves, most Wise Co. schools had 700+ students.

I'll ruin my life and my mom is gonna let me do it, that'll show'em. If I was on the board I would have spoken up right then and said well that's your choice but Pound is still going to be closed and moved to Kelly.
As Stripes said it is the newest building. What they haven't been talking about is that SP will have K-12 in the same building and only offer basic core courses. If your kid wants to take any higher level/advanced classes they will have to go somewhere else ie Coeburn/Castlewood.This proposal didn't include shutting down St. Paul High School. It had been part of all the other scenarios. Anyone have any ideas about this??

i dont understand what everyone means by the "you arent getting a quality education" argument? i went to appy, i got an advanced diploma and finished my high school career with 14 college credit hours. I was pretty much a semester ahead of a lot of the kids i went to ETSU with. did they stop the dual enrollment program or what? we had kids taking AP courses too did they drop that as well? if they did then that is just pitiful.
Cant we all just get along?
What is everyones opinion on the percentage of 'defectors' going to a different school if all these changes occur?
When you become senile, you won't know it.
Someone actually posted their thoughts on this in an earlier post. I would say that about 10-15% from pound will go to Clintwood the first year, then it will reduce down to about 1% after the first year. Appy is another story. I would say that probably 30-40% of them will go to Lee with the most of the 8th graders going to Burton, since they are slated to go to PVMS next year. Again, those will drop off to about 5 percent after that. Just my thought.
